In 2019 Chard International was engaged to undertake a full internal renovation of a grand residence
in Toorak, Melbourne.
The 520 square metre multi-leveled modernist home on the Yarra river required a design that enhanced the minimalist architecture but also accommodated the contemporary nature of this young family.
Heavily stained and varnished wood floors were stripped back to bare wood and bleached to lighten the home, planked concrete wallpaper lined walls on the upper floor and ceilings and mirrors, strip lighting and graphic paint effects were used to build depth and space in the basement level.
The renovation included the addition of a gym, a basketball court and conversion of a swimming pool
into a trio of trampolines.
